The President is coming to Holland!

Well, I did not get to make cupcakes for Obama, but it was pretty cool that I had an order for Red, White, and Blue cupcakes for such a historical day in Holland!


President Obama was here to speak on the LG Chem Plant that is coming to Holland which will essentially bring hundreds of jobs back to Michigan! My father-in-law was there to hear him speak. Crazy!


In the evening, a friend was having a "Dessert, Drinks, and Politics" get together and to talk to Rep. Bill Huizenga who is running for Congress. How coincidental! I made red, white, and blue vanilla cupcakes for the event, how appropriate!

Wedding Shower Extravaganza

Question:What do you do when your daughter is having a destination wedding?
Answer: Have an amazing Bridal Shower/Reception in her honor!
Even better? Have fabulous myKakes as the centerpiece!

The mother of the bride asked me to make the cupcakes for her daughter's bridal shower and I happily obliged. As we were brainstorming, we decided on a cupcake/floral centerpiece.
I was eager to create this as I love floral arranging almost as much as I love baking cupcakes!
Flowers were provided by a local florist, Pat's European Fresh Flowers, and I had a blast putting the arrangements together.
Cupcakes were classic vanilla, mocha, and lemon raspberry.
It was ultimately a knock out of the park!
