Wedding Shower Extravaganza

Question:What do you do when your daughter is having a destination wedding?
Answer: Have an amazing Bridal Shower/Reception in her honor!
Even better? Have fabulous myKakes as the centerpiece!

The mother of the bride asked me to make the cupcakes for her daughter's bridal shower and I happily obliged. As we were brainstorming, we decided on a cupcake/floral centerpiece.
I was eager to create this as I love floral arranging almost as much as I love baking cupcakes!
Flowers were provided by a local florist, Pat's European Fresh Flowers, and I had a blast putting the arrangements together.
Cupcakes were classic vanilla, mocha, and lemon raspberry.
It was ultimately a knock out of the park!

Surprise!

Summer is finally here in beautiful West Michigan!   With cupcake orders aplenty, I have been a tad too busy to work on my blog, but I wanted to showcase this sweet little myKake.  A client had a surprise party for her Husband; can you guess how old he is?!  Chocolate cupcakes with mocha butter cream were the choice for the party seeing as she has a coffee lover on her hands.  I topped them with a fondant 3-0, just to be sure everyone knows the reason for the big celebration!

~also~

For all you myKakes followers in the Grand Rapids area, I am waiving the gas surcharge for the months of July and August.  So, if you have a hankering for some delicious cupcakes, but not in the mood for the ride to Holland, I will happy to deliver them to you, free of charge!

Happy Summer!

New Photos!

I consider myself a good cook and pretty talented at baking, but I am no photgrapher! My good friend, Alison, is a local photographer here in Holland, and I was lucky enough to have her shoot some great photos of my cupcakes for my website!
Here is just a sampling of the great work that she does!

Be sure to check out her new website and blog!

Thank you, Alison! They are amazing!
