New Photos!

I consider myself a good cook and pretty talented at baking, but I am no photgrapher! My good friend, Alison, is a local photographer here in Holland, and I was lucky enough to have her shoot some great photos of my cupcakes for my website!
Here is just a sampling of the great work that she does!

Be sure to check out her new website and blog!

Thank you, Alison! They are amazing!

Happy Valentines Day!

I just finished making these sweet little mini myKakes for a precious little girl's preschool class. Her mom chose vanilla cupcakes with vanilla butter cream tinted pink, and then topped with a tiny fondant heart brushed with edible glitter....perfect for a little princess and her classmates!

Happy Birthday, Diane!

I had the privilege of making myKakes for my dear friend, Diane, for her 39th Birthday Bash! Her husband threw a fabulous party in her honor at Toulouse in Saugatuck, Michigan. She requested my cupcakes as her birthday dessert, but he mentioned he had already taken care of the dessert portion of the meal. Imagine her surprise when she found out that secretly, he already ordered my creation just for her and all her friends she dined with that evening!

Her husband and I decided upon coconut cupcakes, chocolate with chocolate butter cream, and the ever popular lemon with lavender infused butter cream. The birthday girl had three; one before dinner, one after the meal was served, and one when she returned home that evening!

Diane, I hope you had a fabulous birthday, and I thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!

Sneaking a cupcake from the secret stash under the table!

Myself with Diane, the honoree of the evening, and my dear friend, Veronica.

Flavors of choice:

Chocolate with chocolate butter cream
Coconut with coconut cream cheese frosting
Lemon with lavender butter cream

Diane and her husband, Rich. I think he got brownie points that evening (or should I say myKakes points)!

Happy First Birthday Charlotte!

The Birthday girl in her adorable little attire!

I made these sweet little cupcakes for Charlotte's first birthday. Coconut cupcakes with coconut cream cheese frosting and chocolate with pink butter cream were the choices and I think they are perfect for a little girls special day! I love the colors pink and brown together and the little flowers are precious for a little princess!

Happy First Birthday, Charlotte!

Enjoy your sweet treat!

Let's Do Lunch!

Holland Junior Welfare League had their annual "Kids at Heart" Luncheon and I had the privilege of donating a gift certificate and vanilla cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for a lucky winner!

Thank you, HJWL, for all you do for the children in our community!

Check out the link below for information about this wonderful organization!

Holland Junior Welfare League (HJWL) began in 1932. From developing a cookbook in the 60's to establishing 'Kids on the Block' in the 80's, HJWL has gone through many changes throughout the decades. Despite the changes, our mission has been steadfast; helping improve the welfare of children.

We are a non-profit, charitable organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, by fostering the spirit of involvement in enriching the lives of the youth of our community. Our purpose is exclusively educational and philanthropic.
